5 Money-Saving Military Discounts in Tennessee 

Travel within the state of Tennessee with your military family while saving some money! Enjoying all Tennessee has to offer doesn’t have to break the bank. Many establishments offer military discounts as a thank you to service men and women and their families. Here are a few of our favorites.

Dollywood
Pigeon Forge

Dollywood takes 30% off gate prices for one-day theme park and water park tickets. Enjoy 40 rides including three new rides for the upcoming 2017 season. Squeal at a 200 ft. free fall experience on the Drop Line that plummets above Timber Canyon’s pool before thrusting upward. For the youngsters, the new Whistle Punk Chaser is the junior coaster fun for little ones and their parents. Finally, slide down the aqua tubes at Dollywood’s water park, Splash Country, on the new Tailspin Racer. Entertainment is prime at Dollywood where you can see the Festival of Nations performances like Mother Africa or new from America’s Got Talent fame, Tokyo-based dance company, Enra, which will delight in their multi-media dance and video production. Tickets must be purchased at the front gate. In order to receive the special military ticket, you must be a U.S. active or retired military, disabled veteran, military reservist, spouse or dependent. Present valid military personnel or dependent ID.

Grand Ole Opry
Nashville

You never know who you will see at the Grand Ole Opry, but you can sure save on tickets to hot acts like the Oak Ridge Boys, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Rascal Flats on stage with others. Check out a show or take the backstage tour. Learn about country music greats past and present with a tour narrated with video clips by the one and only Blake Shelton. See photographs and artifacts from some of Tennessee’s greats from bluegrass to modern country music. You’ll leave with a giddy-up in your boots while humming your favorite country song!

Show your military ID to receive discounts of $5 off PL2 (main floor, mezzanine, and balcony options) or PL3 show tickets (mezzanine, balcony, limited view, and limited view balcony seats). Save $2 on tours of the Grand Ole Opry as well.

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies
Gatlinburg

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies offers one of the most generous military discounts in Tennessee! Military members with ID get 50% off admission while their dependents and spouse receive 30% off ticket prices.

Attractions include a Tropical Rainforest, Ocean Realm, Shark Lagoon, Touch a Ray Bay, Coral Reef, Discovery Center, Gallery of the Seas, Stingray Bay, and Penguin Playhouse. Take your family to learn and explore sea life while saving a bit of money. You’ll love the new exhibits like Pearl Harbor to take you through the history of land and sea and as well!

Nashville Zoo
Nashville

The Nashville Zoo lets visitors interact with critters, meet 18 red kangaroos in a 4,500 square feet Australian landscape, ride a zip line (for an additional fee), and climb a 66,000 square feet jungle gym along with visiting multiple species of animals throughout the zoo.

To celebrate and thank military members, Nashville Zoo offers $1 off admission for military personnel and everyone in their party when they present their military ID.

In the past, the zoo has offered a military free admission day. Check the website for upcoming events, typically in the Fall.

Graceland
Memphis

Shake your pelvis and visit Elvis’ homestead, Graceland, while saving with your military discount. Graceland has undergone a huge transformation and tours and experiences are like never before beginning March 2017. A new entertainment complex, “Elvis Presley’s Memphis” will give visitors a state-of-the-art experience with options like seeing Elvis’ planes and automobiles. New dining experiences including BBQ and some of the King’s favorite eats are also on the docket. (Peanut butter and banana sandwiches, anyone?)

Active and retired U.S. military members receive 10% off Graceland Mansion Tour or Elvis Experience Tour for up to six individuals (tickets must be purchased by the qualifying person in one transaction with one payment). Military discounts can be obtained by presenting an active or retired military ID at the ticket office.
